A New York Times reporter tried to write a sympathetic story about an illegal migrant using a stolen Social Security number and the American citizen who was wrongly assessed tens of thousands of dollars of taxes as a result. But the narrative broke down when it turned out that the migrant has four anchor babies with US citizenship collecting benefits, multiple DUI arrests, has been deported three times and ran down a grandfather and a little girl on a sidewalk, killing the grandfather.
